Friday evening, Barnaby's Buccaneers had a very successful launch event at Local Jo's in Halifax. There were readings from Madeleine, the inspiration for the book, a short talk from author Joshua Longley, a book signing, t-shirt give-away, cake, enough food for an army and much rejoicing.

Everything went smoothly and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves (the massive amounts of free caffeinated beverages didn't hurt.)

In other news, Barnaby's Buccaneers has been re-stocked at Woozles after a brief run on the title, so anyone who still wanted to pick up a copy locally can get one there or, as always, Atlantic News on Queen and Morris in Halifax.

Art's East has posted an interview with the author as well, which can be found here: Arts East Interview.

The logo was designed and drawn by Dana Boulton, artist extraordinaire. This is just a rough colour mock up I did while the final version is decided on. I was so excited, however, I just had to share the progress.

In other news, the 'official' book launch is on its way. Details will follow shortly.

The newest batch of Barnaby's Buccaneers has arrived. Hopefully these will last a bit longer than the first delivery. On second thought, no... hopefully they sell.

Madeleine, the influence for the star of the book, received the original art for the cover of Barnaby's Buccaneers. She seemed quite pleased and proceeded to question me as to whether it was the "real, real original cover" or not. I assured her it really, really was and here she is holding it proudly on Christmas morning:

In other news, Barnanby's Buccaneers will hopefully be moving onto more local shelves soon. I'll keep you posted.

Barnaby's Buccaneers is now available on the shelves of Atlantic News on the corner of Queen and Morris in Halifax.

The supply is limited for now, so hurry to get your copy! Look for it at the cashier or ask for it from one of the incredibly helpful people who work there.

Done and done. The interview went swimmingly and Madeleine did us proud. She walked away with a t-shirt gifted to her by Don Connolly and an experience to tell her grandchildren.

You can listen to the interview here.

There should be pictures on the way of the two of us in the studio and I will post them when I receive them.

Barnaby's Buccaneers has come to The Chronicle Herald. The story can be read here.

The response has been great so far and as embarrassing as the picture is, I'm quite happy with it.

On Saturday, December 17th, 2011 Barnaby's Buccaneers was presented to my niece Madeleine as her Christmas present and the gag order was lifted on the small group of people who knew about it.

The book can be purchased from Barnes & Noble, Chapters-Indigo (currently only as an eBook for now), Amazon, iUniverse or any number of online book retailers.
